En 1962, suite à l’indépendance Algérienne, ma famille quitte l’Algérie pour la première fois depuis son installation au début la période coloniale. 60 ans plus tard, après plusieurs tentatives d’en parler avec mon père, je réalise que les non-dits bien connus de l’occupation coloniale à l’échelle de l’Etat, se retrouvent également au sein de ma famille. Pour interroger cette mémoire qui ne se transmet pas, pour en comprendre ses fondements, je cherche ses traces ailleurs.

In 1962, following Algerian independence, my family left Algeria for the first time since settling there at the beginning of the colonial period. 60 years later, after several attempts to talk about it with my father, I realize that the well-known unspoken aspects of colonial occupation on a national scale are also present within my family. To question this untransmitted memory and understand its foundations, I look for traces of it elsewhere.
